Route description
The starting point is the schoolhouse in Muotathal, where the path crosses the Muota straight away and the Hofbach at kilometre 0.5. The climb gains around 161 metres by kilometre 2.2.
Via Acherli and Guggeli the route climbs, and at kilometre 2.6 the highest point is reached at 796 metres. Via Tätschli and Huobli the path descends again and crosses the Teufbach at kilometre 3.0.
At kilometre 4.1 Hinterthal is reached at the entrance to the Hürital, where the path crosses the Hüribach at kilometre 4.5 and leads back to the starting point.
Technically the walk makes no demands and is therefore suitable for families too. Because it is open all year round, it is also an option in the winter half of the year. Food and drink are available in Muotathal at the start and finish.
