Route description

The starting point is the top station of the funicular on Stoos. Via Rämsen the path climbs 284 metres from kilometre 1.5 and leads through the Frontal and later the Rambachtobel.

At kilometre 6.9 the path crosses the Wannentritt, the pass into the neighbouring valley, right by the Birg. After the Bürgelibach a second climb of 208 metres follows from kilometre 8.1, leading to the highest point at kilometre 10.6 at 1,737 metres.

The long descent leads through the Schluchen and via Rosslaui and Gütschenmatt down to Riemenstalden at 1,005 metres. The elevation range is 732 metres.

The steepest passage lies at kilometre 8.4 and reaches around 21 per cent. Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route, so provisions belong in the rucksack. The tour is recommended from May to October.
