Route description
The starting point is Steinen station, which makes getting there particularly easy. The path crosses the Chäppelibach at kilometre 0.3; from kilometre 0.7 the climb begins and does not let up until the summit.
Via Günschi and Talacher the route climbs and crosses the Talacherbach at kilometre 2.5. Then come the Hüenderloch and the Ofenloch; the steepest passage is 23 per cent at kilometre 5.8.
After crossing the Widenbach and with a view into the Hürital, the Wildspitz is reached at kilometre 7.5. On the summit stands the Berggasthaus Wildspitz, the only refreshment stop recorded on the tour.
Several sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. Because the climb covers 1,108 metres of ascent in only seven and a half kilometres, it should not be underestimated. It can be walked from April to October.
