Route description
The starting point is Sattel station, which makes getting there particularly easy. After a short prelude of 76 metres, the main climb begins at kilometre 1.5 and does not let up until kilometre 6.6. On the way the path crosses the Schäfbodenbach and the Talacherbach and leads through the Ofenloch.
At kilometre 6.6 the Wildspitz is reached, and shortly afterwards, at kilometre 6.7, the highest point of the loop at 1,568 metres, high above the Hürital. The steepest passage lies at kilometre 5.2 and reaches around 24 per cent.
The way back leads through the Chessel, crosses the Änderenbach at kilometre 9.8 and descends back to Sattel. There are 803 metres between the lowest and highest points.
Some sections call for a sure step; sturdy footwear is part of the kit. On the way, the Berggasthaus Wildspitz by the summit and the Alpwirtschaft Halsegg at kilometre 9.1 invite you to a break. The tour is recommended from May to October.
