From Rigi Klösterli via Goldau up the Wildspitz
First 800 metres down to Goldau, then more than 1,000 metres up to the Wildspitz: this route crosses the whole valley and links two mountain worlds. Technically easy, but with 1,135 metres of ascent a fully fledged day tour in terms of stamina.

Route description
It starts at Rigi Klösterli at 1,313 metres. The path crosses the Rigiaa and leads via Dächli, Blätzen and Bürgelen down to Goldau, reached at kilometre 6.0 at around 500 metres. That takes care of the lowest point of the tour.
From kilometre 7.7 the climb up the other side of the valley begins: first 476 metres of ascent by kilometre 10.5, then another 557 to the Gnipen at kilometre 12.9. From there the path continues to the Wildspitz at 1,554 metres, the highest point and at the same time the finish of the hike.
The steepest passage lies at kilometre 11.1 and reaches around 31 per cent. The path itself remains technically straightforward but demands endurance: 1,135 metres of ascent and 894 metres of descent over 14.1 kilometres are a serious amount of work.
The tour is recommended from May to October. For breaks there are the Hotel-Restaurant zum Goldenen Hirschen and the Sandhütte at the start, the Berggasthaus Rigi Dächli at kilometre 3.2 and the Berggasthaus Wildspitz right at the finish.
