A small high-level loop at the Spilauer See
4.1 kilometres, an hour and a half and 212 metres of ascent: this short loop starts at 1,714 metres above the Riemenstalden valley and climbs to 1,897 metres. A tour that calls for a sure step despite its short distance.

Route description
The starting point is the Chäppeliberg–Spilau top station high above the Riemenstalden valley. The climb begins at once and gains around 172 metres by kilometre 1.7; the steepest section is 15 per cent at kilometre 0.5.
Via the Loch the path climbs, and at kilometre 1.7 the highest point of the loop is reached at 1,897 metres.
The way back drops to 1,699 metres and reaches the SAC Lidernen hut at kilometre 3.5, the only refreshment stop recorded. The loop then closes back at the starting point.
The elevation range is 198 metres. Several sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear; the terrain is alpine in character. Because of the altitude the loop can be walked from June to October. It is worth checking the hut's opening times in advance.
