Route description
The starting point is the top station of the rotating gondola on the Mostelberg, where the Berggasthaus Mostelberg stands right at the start. The path passes the Lauitobel.
At kilometre 0.5 the highest point is reached at 1,189 metres, after which the loop drops to 1,142 metres. At kilometre 0.8 the path crosses the Lauitobelbach.
The elevation range is a mere 47 metres; the steepest section is seven per cent at kilometre 1.0. There are no climbs worth mentioning.
Technically the loop makes no demands. Because it is open all year round, it is also an option in the winter half of the year, when winter footwear and a look at current conditions are part of the plan. On the Mostelberg the outing combines well with the other attractions run by the mountain railways.
