Route description
The starting point is Rigi Scheidegg, which is also the highest point of the route. The path leads through the Löcher, passes Rigi Burggeist after just 300 metres and then descends only very gradually.
On the way the route crosses the Altdorfbach, the Rotenfluobach and the Dossenbach and reaches Rigi Unterstetten at kilometre 4. Via First at kilometre 5.8 it continues to Rigi Kaltbad at 1,437 metres.
With an elevation range of 211 metres and only 20 metres of ascent, the route is one of the flattest in the collection. There are no climbs worth mentioning, and it makes no technical demands either.
According to the accessibility data the path is recommended above all in the months of November to April, in other words as a winter hike. At the finish the Hotel-Restaurant Alpina invites you to a break. In snow, winter equipment and a look at current conditions are part of the plan.
