Route description
The starting point is Einsiedeln at 892 metres, right by the monastery square. The path climbs 69 metres over the first 1.2 kilometres and there already reaches the highest point of the loop at 966 metres.
After that the profile stays remarkably even: there are a mere 89 metres between the lowest and highest points. The steepest section is eight per cent at kilometre 0.5.
Technically the walk makes no particular demands. Because it runs along the valley floor, it can be walked from March to November, a considerably longer season than the high-level paths. Food and drink are available in Einsiedeln at the start and finish.
