Eight kilometres with a mere 72 metres of ascent: this loop from the monastery square in Einsiedeln at 904 metres has an elevation range of just 36 metres and is open all year round. Two hours of leisurely walking on the valley floor.

Route description
The starting point is the monastery square in Einsiedeln. The path crosses the Wänibach at kilometre 1.0 and reaches Trachslau at the entrance to the Alptal at kilometre 1.5.
After crossing the Alp and the Aubach, the highest point of the loop is reached at kilometre 2.5 at 916 metres. The lowest point lies at 880 metres.
There are no climbs worth mentioning; the steepest section is four per cent at kilometre 5.5. The path leads back to the monastery square.
Technically the walk makes no demands and is therefore suitable for all ages. Because it is open all year round, it is also an option in the winter half of the year. Food and drink are available in Einsiedeln at the start and finish.
