Route description
The starting point is the Pragelpass at 1,541 metres, where the path crosses the Starzlenbach. The climb begins at once and gains around 759 metres by kilometre 4.2, passing the Ruchen Tritt and the Langer Boden on the way.
The steepest passage lies at kilometre 2.3 and reaches around 33 per cent. At kilometre 4.0 the summit of the Silberen is reached, and shortly afterwards, at kilometre 4.1, the highest point of the loop at 2,315 metres.
The way back runs high above the Rossmatter Tal and the Klöntal and through the Hinteres Bärenloch back to the Pragelpass, with another 61 metres of ascent from kilometre 10.1. The elevation range is 774 metres.
Several sections require a sure step and a head for heights, and on the karst terrain a reliable sense of direction is important too. At the start and finish the Alpwirtschaft Pragelpasshöhe invites you to a break. The tour is recommended from June to October.
