A long loop from Stalden in the Muotatal
1,033 metres of ascent in 13.3 kilometres, 678 of them in a single climb: this loop from Stalden at 663 metres climbs to 1,426 metres and returns in a wide sweep. A challenging day tour with a passage at a 30 per cent gradient.

Route description
The starting point is Stalden in the Muotatal, where the path crosses the Starzlenbach straight away. The climb begins at once and gains around 678 metres by kilometre 4.7. The steepest passage lies at kilometre 3.9 and reaches around 30 per cent.
After another short climb the highest point is reached at kilometre 5.9 at 1,426 metres, high above the Bisistal. The elevation range is 763 metres.
The long way back leads via the Mittlist Weid, through the Teufdolen and the Horgrasentobel, and reaches the valley floor again via Egg at kilometre 12.7. After the Rotenbach the loop closes back at the starting point.
Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route, so provisions and drinks belong in the rucksack. The tour is recommended from May to October.
