Route description

The starting point is the village of Illgau, where the path crosses the Bettbach straight away. The steepest passage comes at the start and reaches around 25 per cent. At kilometre 1.4, according to the route data, a cable car bridges the section from 817 to 1,179 metres, where Steinweid lies.

Via the Chlingentobel the path continues and reaches the highest point of the loop at kilometre 4.2 at 1,197 metres.

The way back descends via the Wartberg at kilometre 5.9 and Wart at kilometre 6.4 to the village. The lowest point lies at 811 metres.

Technically the path remains straightforward; sturdy footwear is enough. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route, but food and drink are available in Illgau. The loop can be walked from May to October.
