Route description

The starting point is the Eigeliswald at 1,375 metres. The loop first descends to 1,013 metres, the lowest point, before the first climb of 308 metres begins from kilometre 3.3. The steepest passage lies at kilometre 4.0 and reaches around 27 per cent.

Via the Brämis the path continues and gains another 258 metres from kilometre 5.9. At kilometre 9.1 the Chalbertal is reached, after which a last push of 71 metres follows.

At kilometre 11.5 lies the highest point of the loop at 1,687 metres. Via the Wolfsbüel the path descends again and reaches the Gschwändhütte at kilometre 15.2, the only refreshment stop recorded, before the loop ends at the starting point.

Several sections require a sure step, a head for heights and sturdy footwear; the route is considerably more demanding than an ordinary hike. Because of the altitude it can be walked from June to October. Provisions for the way belong in the rucksack.
