A long loop from Gersau over the Wissifluh

Route description
The starting point is the Gersau boat landing on Lake Lucerne. The path crosses the Innerer Dorfbach at kilometre 0.3 and the Usserdorfbach at kilometre 1.2; the climb begins at once and continues until kilometre 5.9.
Via Oberried the route climbs; the steepest passage comes shortly before the top at kilometre 5.2 and reaches around 43 per cent. At kilometre 5.9 the highest point is reached at 1,441 metres, where the view opens over the Langezug.
The way back leads down via Fälmis, the Wissifluh and the Lätttobel and passes the Menschenacher at kilometre 10.0 before returning to the lakeshore.
The elevation range is 1,007 metres. Several sections require a sure step, a head for heights and sturdy footwear, and the almost 1,100 metres of ascent call for very good fitness. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route, so provisions belong in the rucksack. The loop can be walked from April to October.
