From the Wissifluh along the ridge to Hinterbergen
490 metres of ascent in only two kilometres, with a passage at a 42 per cent gradient: this short tour starts at the Wissifluh above Vitznau at 946 metres and climbs to 1,444 metres. 4.5 kilometres that pack a punch.

Route description
The starting point is the car park by the Hinterbergen cable car above Vitznau, at the Wissifluh. The path passes the Lätttobel; from kilometre 0.3 the climb of 490 metres begins.
The steepest passage lies at kilometre 1.6 and reaches around 42 per cent, one of the highest figures in the collection. At kilometre 2.3 the highest point is reached at 1,444 metres, where the view opens over the Langezug.
The path then descends via Fälmis and crosses the Altdorfbach at kilometre 4.0. At kilometre 4.3 Hinterbergen and the Eselberg are reached, where the Restaurant Hinterbergen invites you to a break. The hike ends at 1,063 metres.
The elevation range is 500 metres. Several sections require a sure step, a head for heights and sturdy footwear. Despite the short distance, allow two and a half hours. The route crosses the municipal boundary from Vitznau into Gersau and can be walked from May to October.
