Route description
The starting point is the top station of the Brunnen–Urmiberg cable car at the Timpel, where the Bergrestaurant Timpelweid stands right at the start. The first climb gains 234 metres over 1.4 kilometres and leads across the Teuftobel.
After crossing the Teubertsbach, the second climb of 308 metres follows from kilometre 3.4. At kilometre 4.1 the Gätterlipass is reached, where the Restaurant Gätterlipass invites you to a break. The steepest passage is 34 per cent at kilometre 5.1.
At kilometre 5.5 lies the highest point of the tour at 1,474 metres, after which the long descent begins via the Chrummtobel and the Sulztal. The path crosses the Fallenbach at kilometre 7.9 and reaches Brunnen at kilometre 9.2.
The elevation range is 1,038 metres. Several sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear; the long descent is hard on the knees, and walking poles are a sensible aid. The route crosses the municipal boundary from Ingenbohl into Gersau and back and can be walked from April to November.
