From the summit of the Fronalpstock down to Morschach
580 metres of descent in 4.5 kilometres, without a single counter-climb: this route leads down from the summit of the Fronalpstock at 1,904 metres. An hour and a half that follows on nicely from a ride up.

Route description
The starting point is the summit of the Fronalpstock, which is also the highest point of the route. The path drops away immediately and runs along above the Frontal.
At kilometre 0.8 the path passes the Chessel, at kilometre 2.0 the Räbloch. The descent is spread evenly over the whole route; there are no climbs worth mentioning.
The hike ends at 1,325 metres; the elevation range is 579 metres. Despite the 580 metres of descent the path remains technically straightforward.
Sturdy footwear is part of the kit, and walking poles are a sensible aid on a descent like this. Because of the altitude the route can be walked from May to October. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route, but food and drink are available in the mountain village of Stoos.
