Steep climb from the Seebodenalp to Rigi Staffel
587 metres of ascent in 3.4 kilometres, without a single metre of descent: this is the most direct and steepest link from the Seebodenalp up to Rigi Staffel. Two hours of pure uphill walking, but you are at the top in no time.

Route description
The starting point is the Seebodenalp at 1,015 metres, where the path crosses the Dorfbach straight away. The climb begins at once and continues to the finish; there are no counter-descents or flat stretches in between.
The steepest passage lies at kilometre 1.3 and reaches around 24 per cent. At kilometre 3.2 Rigi Staffel is reached; the hike ends at 1,605 metres. The elevation range is 590 metres.
Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. If you would rather not walk back down, take the Rigi railway from Rigi Staffel.
At the start the Hotel Rigi-Seebodenalp invites you to a break, at the finish the Restaurant Bahnhöfli. The tour is recommended from May to October and crosses the municipal boundary from Küssnacht am Rigi into Arth.
