Route description
The starting point is the top station of the cable car at Steinweid, which is also the highest point of the route. The path drops away immediately, with the steepest descent right at the start.
Wart is reached at kilometre 1.0 and Illgau at kilometre 1.9. After crossing the Bettbach the walk ends at 815 metres.
The lowest point lies at 811 metres; the elevation range is 367 metres. There are no climbs worth mentioning.
Technically the route makes no particular demands and is therefore suitable for families too. Because you ride up by cable car and walk down, the outing stays manageable. The route can be walked from May to October.
