Route description
The starting point is the top station of the Brunnen–Urmiberg cable car at the Timpel, where the Bergrestaurant Timpelweid stands right at the start. The first climb gains 182 metres over 1.1 kilometres and leads across the Teuftobel.
After crossing the Teubertsbach at kilometre 3.5, the second climb of 281 metres follows from kilometre 3.3. The steepest passage lies at kilometre 4.0 and reaches around 24 per cent.
From kilometre 5.3 the path gains another 216 metres. Rigi Burggeist is reached at kilometre 6.1, after which the route leads through the Löcher to Rigi Scheidegg at 1,641 metres, the highest point of the tour.
The elevation range is 507 metres, and some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. In snow, winter equipment and a look at current conditions are part of the plan. The route runs from Ingenbohl via Lauerz to Gersau.
