From Sattel over the Mostelberg to the Herrenboden
9.2 kilometres with 797 metres of ascent: this tour starts at the valley station of the gondola in Sattel at 776 metres and climbs over the Mostelberg to 1,442 metres. Three and a half hours with three short climbs that divide up well.

Route description
The starting point is the valley station of the gondola in Sattel, where the path crosses the Steiner Aa straight away. The steepest passage comes right at kilometre 0.0 and reaches around 24 per cent.
The Mostelberg is reached at kilometre 1.7, where the Berggasthaus Mostelberg invites you to a break. According to the route data, a cableway bridges the section from 776 to 1,182 metres there.
Via the Lauitobel and after crossing the Lauitobelbach, a climb of 99 metres follows. The path crosses the Underibach at kilometre 4.1 and leads through the Grosse and the Kleine Lauischlucht.
From kilometre 4.8 the route gains another 275 metres to the highest point at kilometre 7.6 at 1,442 metres. Via the Herrenboden the hike ends at 1,148 metres. Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. The route crosses the municipal boundary from Sattel into Rothenthurm and can be walked from May to October.
