Loop from Wil in the Muotatal over the Tauisberg
7.5 kilometres with 651 metres of ascent in two roughly equal climbs: this loop starts at the parish church in Wil at 614 metres and climbs to 1,139 metres. Three and a half hours across the municipal boundary into Illgau and back.

Route description
The starting point is the parish church in Wil near Muotathal. The path crosses the Muota at kilometre 0.3 and the Bürgelibach at kilometre 1.3, reaching Ried at kilometre 1.7.
From kilometre 1.4 the first climb begins with 262 metres of ascent; the steepest passage is 25 per cent at kilometre 2.0. Illgau is reached at kilometre 3.5, where the path crosses the Bettbach.
From kilometre 3.4 the second climb follows with 266 metres of ascent via Endiberg, Bergli and the Tauisberg. At kilometre 5.7 the highest point of the loop is reached at 1,139 metres.
The way back descends via the Zinglenflue, the Chatzenstrick and Ober Zinglen. The elevation range is 542 metres. Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. No refreshment stop is recorded along the route. The loop can be walked from May to October.
