Route description
The starting point is Gersau, by the boat landing. The climb begins at once and gains around 236 metres by kilometre 2.1; the steepest section is 15 per cent at kilometre 1.2.
The path crosses the Innerer Dorfbach at kilometre 0.3. At kilometre 2.1 the highest point of the loop is reached at 672 metres, with a view over Lake Lucerne.
Via the Sellenweid at kilometre 2.6 the path drops back to the lakeshore. The elevation range is 238 metres.
Technically the hike makes no particular demands. Since it can be walked all year, it is also an option in the winter half of the year, when non-slip footwear and a look at current conditions are part of the plan. Food and drink are available in Gersau at the start and finish.
