From Rigi Kaltbad over the Rotstock to Rigi Staffel
A short link between two railway stations: 2.6 kilometres from Rigi Kaltbad at 1,437 metres over the Rotstock to Rigi Staffel. With 236 metres of ascent and an hour of walking, a leisurely outing that slots in nicely between two train rides.

Route description
The starting point is Rigi Kaltbad, where the Hotel-Restaurant Alpina stands right at the start. The climb begins at once and gains around 178 metres by kilometre 1.2. The steepest passage lies at kilometre 0.4 and reaches around 21 per cent.
After crossing the Speuzibach the path leads over the Rotstock at kilometre 1.3. Shortly afterwards, at kilometre 1.4, the highest point is reached at 1,654 metres; the elevation range of the route is 217 metres.
The last kilometre descends to Rigi Staffel at 1,603 metres, where the Restaurant Lok 7 and the Restaurant Bahnhöfli offer two places to stop.
Technically the hike makes no particular demands and is therefore suitable for families too. As both ends are served by the Rigi railways, the tour is easy to plan. It can be walked from June to October.
