Route description
The starting point is Rigi Kaltbad at the Kaltbad-First station, where the Hotel-Restaurant Alpina stands right at the start. At kilometre 1.1 the highest point of the route is reached at 1,453 metres.
The path then descends and reaches Rigi Klösterli at kilometre 1.7, where the Heirihütte and the Alpwirtschaft Heirihütte invite you to a break. After crossing the Rigiaa, the Hotel-Restaurant zum Goldenen Hirschen follows at kilometre 1.8.
The walk ends at 1,317 metres; the elevation range is 143 metres. There are no climbs worth mentioning, and the gradient nowhere exceeds two per cent.
Because the route is designated for the winter months, winter equipment, non-slip footwear and a look at current conditions are part of the plan. Both ends are served by the Rigi railways, which makes planning easier.
