From Tuggen across the Linth to Schmerikon
6.5 kilometres with only 79 metres of ascent: this walk leads from Tuggen at 409 metres across the Linth plain to Schmerikon. An hour and a half, open all year round and with an elevation range of just 80 metres.

Route description
The starting point is Tuggen at the Gallusplatz. From kilometre 0.3 the only climb follows with 72 metres of ascent; the steepest section is ten per cent at kilometre 0.4. At kilometre 1.5 the highest point is reached at 483 metres.
The path then drops into the Linth plain. Grynau is reached at kilometre 3.2, where the route crosses the Alt Linth and, shortly afterwards, the Linth canal and the Linth.
At kilometre 3.7 Uznach lies on the way, and at kilometre 5.0 Schmerikon at the upper end of Lake Zurich. After crossing the Aabach the walk ends at 407 metres.
The lowest point lies at 403 metres. Technically the route makes no demands and suits all ages. Because it is open all year round, it is an option in any season. Both ends are served by public transport.
