Family loop from the Holzegg via Zwäcken
10.3 kilometres with only 448 metres of ascent: this loop from the top station of the Brunni–Holzegg cable car at 1,097 metres has an elevation range of 377 metres and makes a good family outing. Three and a half hours.

Route description
The starting point is the top station of the cable car at the Schachli in the Alptal. The steepest passage comes right at the start and reaches around 19 per cent. At kilometre 1.6, according to the route data, a cable car bridges the section from 1,097 to 1,396 metres, where the Berggasthaus Holzegg stands.
At kilometre 1.9 the Skihaus Holzegg follows. The path gains a total of 127 metres by kilometre 2.6 and crosses the Stäglerenegg at kilometre 2.2.
At kilometre 2.4 the highest point of the loop is reached at 1,467 metres. Via the Zwäckentobel the path descends and reaches Zwäcken at kilometre 3.4.
After crossing the Alp at kilometre 6.1 and the Erlentobel, the loop closes back at the starting point. Some sections require a sure step and sturdy footwear. The route crosses the municipal boundary from Alpthal into Schwyz and can be walked from May to October.
