Gentle high path from Rigi Staffel to Rigi Kaltbad
5.1 kilometres with a mere 37 metres of ascent: this route leads from Rigi Staffel at 1,603 metres on a gentle descent to Rigi Kaltbad. An hour and a half with an elevation range of just 174 metres and four refreshment stops.

Route description
The starting point is Rigi Staffel, which is also the highest point of the route. The Restaurant Bahnhöfli stands right at the start, and the Restaurant Lok 7 follows at kilometre 0.3.
At kilometre 1.0 Rigi Kaltbad is reached, where the Kräuterhotel Edelweiss invites you to a break. At kilometre 3.0 the Hotel-Restaurant Alpina follows.
The walk ends at 1,431 metres; the lowest point lies at 1,430 metres. There are no climbs worth mentioning, and the gradient nowhere exceeds two per cent.
Technically the route makes no demands and suits all ages. It is recommended from May to August, when the alpine pastures of the Rigi are in full bloom. As the start and finish are served by the Rigi railways, it is easy to plan.
