Route description

The starting point is Goldau station, which makes getting there particularly easy. After just 400 metres the climb of 479 metres begins and continues until kilometre 3.3. On the way the path crosses the Kienbach at kilometre 1.5.

Via the Ober Spitzibüel at kilometre 3.8, a second climb of 106 metres follows from kilometre 4.4. At kilometre 5.0 the highest point of the loop is reached at 1,048 metres.

The way back crosses the Gnipenbach at kilometre 6.1 and leads back to Goldau. The Gnipen is the mountain from which the rockslide broke away in 1806 and buried the old village of Goldau. The elevation range of the loop is 545 metres.

The steepest passage lies at kilometre 2.6 and reaches around 27 per cent. Technically the path remains straightforward, but the climb calls for a certain basic fitness. The tour is recommended from May to October.
