Route description
The starting point is the Seebodenalp above Küssnacht am Rigi. The path crosses the Dorfbach right at the beginning, shortly afterwards the Rigacherbach and at kilometre 1.5 the Fluebach. There the climb begins and continues until kilometre 4.1.
Via Alt Ruodisegg at kilometre 1.8 the route gains 437 metres and reaches the highest point at kilometre 4.1 at 1,464 metres. At kilometre 4.8 Rigi Kaltbad is reached; the hike ends at 1,415 metres.
The steepest passage lies at kilometre 2.6 and reaches around 24 per cent. Some sections call for a sure step; sturdy footwear is part of the kit.
At the start the Hotel Rigi-Seebodenalp invites you to a break. As both the start and the finish are served by a mountain railway, the tour is easy to plan. It is recommended from May to October and passes through the municipalities of Küssnacht am Rigi, Greppen and Weggis.
